About

The Rediscovery Centre is a unique waste management resource in the
heart of Ballymun.
The centre is being developed in response to growing national and international concerns in relation to the management of natural resources and waste. Sustainability is at the core of The Rediscovery Centre, which aims to break away from the traditional views of waste and waste management systems and instead demonstrate the potential of waste resource. Reduce, reuse, recycle and finally the recovery of waste is core to the Rediscovery Centre’s operation.

The main objectives of the Rediscovery centre are to:

  • Create a waste facility for present and future needs in Ballymun
  • Develop local employment and training opportunities
  • Change the negative perception of second hand products
    and materials
  • Present a holistic approach to waste management in Ireland

Projects

The centre currently runs a number of projects aimed to put Ballymun at the frontline of waste management. These projects result in
an overall reduction in waste production. This is achieved through effective waste prevention initiatives, better resource efficiency and by promoting sustainable consumption patterns.
