Second Level Education Programme

The Rediscovery Centre is currently developing waste education workshops for second level students. These workshops introduce pupils to the concepts of effective waste management, the environmental impact of waste and innovative approaches to design that minimise waste.  The content of the worshop is linked to the second level curriculum through CSPE (Concept of Stewardship), Art and Science. This cross curricular approach provides students with an opportunity to be creative and develop analytical skills in a hands-on way.

Two workshops are currently available; an introduction to waste management, and, an introduction to sustainable design.

Feedback from teachers on the Second Level Workshops:

“Very well organised and thought out, very varied, pupils were fully involved in all aspects of the workshop and thoroughly enjoyed the activities.”
