Rediscover Fashion is now recruiting for a 3 day dressmaking and upstyling workshop. No previous experience needed. All tools and equipment provided. Just bring your old clothes to work with.
When: Monday 21st - Wednesday 23rd June, 9.30 until 15.30 daily

Rediscover Fashion 1 day Crash Course - 11th September 2010
This one day course has been designed for beginners but all are welcome. This crash course is designed to give you the basic skills to upstyle clothes, using a sewing machine and alter clothing.

"Make your own cushion workshop" - 2nd September 2010
This evening workshop is open to all levels. Participants will be shown how to make and accessorise cushions and the best part is you can take them home with you. All materials will be provided.

6 week fashion course - Commencing Wed 18th August 2010
This course has been designed for beginners in fashion or if you want to brush up on skills. Over the 6 weeks participants will learn to use machinery, insert zips, hems and understand basic pattern drafting and dress making.
When: Wednesday evenings commencing 18th August 2010 for 6 weeks
Time: from 6.30 to 9pm

10th dlr Festival of World Cultures - 23rd to 25th July 2010
The Rediscovery Centre will showcase at the Dun Laoghaire Festival of World Cultures. Guitarist Aidan Robers will perform using the Rediscovery Centre's recycled guitar with accompaniment by Hang percussionist Colm Mc Enaney for daily lunchtime performances. All this while artists from the Dublin Secret Wars team paint a live mural using paint from the centre's community RePaint Project. Too good to miss!

Rediscover Furniture Sale - 1st July 2010
The next Rediscovery Centre Furniture sale will be held in the Atrium of the Ballymun Civic Centre on Thursday July 1st between 10 - 4pm. There will be a wide range of high quality restored and recycled furniture on display.

Rediscover Fashion Show - 3rd June 2010
After the success of the May 2008 fashion show the Rediscover Fashion Project is proud to announce the Spring/Summer 2010 fashion show in association with Ikea Ballymun. The show will take place on June 3rd in the Ikea store.
Fashion Director Carrie Ann Moran and her team will present the lastest clothing range made from 100% reclaimed and recycled fabrics.

Furniture Recycling Project - 22nd - 23rd May 2010
The Furniture Recycling Project will be selling a range of restored and recycled furniture at the Sustainable Environment Fair 2010 in the National Botanic Gardens. The exhibition will also feature stalls from other leading environmental organisations with information on conservation, fair trade and sustainable living.
The Furniture Recycling Project will be at Visitor Centre of the National Botanic Gardens from 10.30am on Sunday 23rd May. We hope to see you there!

Sustainable Innovation Forum - 27th April 2010
The Rediscovery Centre will be exhibiting at the rx3 Sustainable Innovation Forum on Tuesday 27th April 2010 in the Royal Hospital Kilmainham. The forum will demonstrate thinking around sustainability and design and showcase a range of recycled products and ideas.
The Rediscovery Centre will provide information on the range of projects run by the centre and showcase work from the Furniture Recycling Project, Rediscover Fashion and Discover Primary Science Programme. Our team will be available on the day to answer any of your questions.
