MA Design Sustainability

In collaboration with the Rediscovery Centre, the Market Development Group for Waste Resource (rx3) and the National College of Art and Design two MA Design Sustainability scholarshops commenced in Janurary 2010.

Having identified sustainable design as an area of focus the two projects aim to exploit the potential of waste resource through sound design practice.

 

Recycling Playground - Darragh Kirby

The design and prototyping of an educational playground in order to make recycling a fun, active and educational experience for children. To create awareness of recycling and the importance of producing clean recyclates.

 

New Products from Recycled Materials - Kate Cronin

The evaluation of materials available for recycling and the design of new products based on these materials to be manufactured in a community based setting.

 

Throughout the course of the project regular updates will be posed on the Rediscovery Centre website.
