The Rediscovery Centre, due for completion in 2011, presents a new generation of recycling centre.

The centre will provide an integrated solution encompassing all elements of the waste management hierarchy at a central facility. the centre aims to encourage effective recycling and promote the reuse of materials through a range of visitor, recreational and educational facilities.

The Rediscovery Centre will demonstrate excellence in waste prevention, reduction, reuse and recovery.

Architects

Designed by Sean Harrington Architects, the center will be built to the highest building standards and consider all aspects of sustainable energy, waste and environmental management.

Location

The building is located in a prime position just north of Ballymun, adjacent to the M50 and directly opposite the new Ikea store.

Facilities

The Rediscovery centre will contain, educational, retail and recreational facilities. The main facilities include:
 

  • Display and exhibition space
  • Education centre
  • Organic Cafe
  • EcoShop
  • Rediscovery Centre Shop
  • Swap shop and materials exchange store
  • Workshops - woodwork, art and furniture
