Tours of the Rediscovery Centre

Event Description:
The Rediscovery Centre is hosting tours for small groups. Visitors of all ages will learn the unique background of the Rediscovery Centre, the history of old Ballymun Boiler House, and the work that the Rediscovery Centre carries out for the benefit of the community, the circular economy and our planet. A visit to the ‘living laboratory’ will be an engaging experience taking visitors on a journey through understanding sustainability, biodiversity and community action. Encompassing the workshops, outdoor garden, educational features and much more, visitors are guaranteed to come away with a better understanding of environmental care, the circular economy and take away helpful tips for greener living.

Tours are available Monday to Saturday from 10am-4pm. Adults tickets are €7.50, students and OAP tickets are €6.00 and children are €5.00. If you would like to book a tour please email visit@rediscoverycentre.ie and we will book it in for you.

In line with current Government Guidelines, all visitors will need to provide valid Proof of Immunity upon arrival to confirm that all are over 18 and are either fully vaccinated or have recovered from COVID-19 in the past 6 months. This does not apply to under-18s who are accompanied by an adult with Proof of Immunity. Face coverings are mandatory, to ensure the safety of other visitors and staff.

A Day of DIY for Climate

Event Description:
Join us at the Rediscovery Centre for a day of DIY for Climate! This event is hosted in association with Dublin City Council.

We’ve got an eclectic mix of expert DIY’ers to show you their skills. All events are FREE. These events will include:

Bike health checks and a bike repair clinic to show you how to fix your bike.
A furniture upcycling workshop to teach you how to take that furniture find from drab to fab.
A demonstration of how to build your own rainwater planter to spruce up your front or back garden.
There will also be tours of the Rediscovery Centre so you can learn more about the building and what we do.

Covid-19

Event Description:
Due to the COVID-19 restrictions we have the following guidelines in place:

In order to protect visitors and staff, it is mandatory that adults wear a face mask during their visit. If visitors arrive without a mask there will be some available to purchase in our Ecostore. Adults will not be able to join a tour/workshop until they are wearing a face mask. If you have any queries in relation to face masks please email our team on info@rediscoverycentre.ie

In order to assist contact tracing all visitors must complete the following survey within 72 hours of their arrival. One survey must be complete per booking. Open House Free Tours of the Rediscovery Centre

To celebrate Open House, the Rediscovery Centre is offering free guided tours to access all areas of Ireland’s National Centre for the Circular Economy. Encompassing the workshops, outdoor garden, educational features and much more, visitors are guaranteed to come away with a better understanding of environmental care, the circular economy and take away helpful tips for greener living.
