Covid-19

Event Description:
Due to the COVID-19 restrictions we have the following guidelines in place:

In order to protect visitors and staff, it is mandatory that adults wear a face mask during their visit. If visitors arrive without a mask there will be some available to purchase in our Ecostore. Adults will not be able to join a tour/workshop until they are wearing a face mask. If you have any queries in relation to face masks please email our team on info@rediscoverycentre.ie

In order to assist contact tracing all visitors must complete the following survey within 72 hours of their arrival. One survey must be complete per booking. LIVE Traditional Soapmaking Online Workshop

Event Description:
This online soap making workshop is hosted by Wapo Natural Skincare and their facilitator Mayca Fernandez. During this workshop, Mayca will teach you how to make your own vegan and palm oil free soap from scratch. Learn about how to calculate the right formula, and make unlimited varieties of soaps . This workshop will teach you the traditional way of making soaps from scratch like the old times with natural plant oils such as: Castile soap in Spain, Marseille soap in France and Aleppo soap in Syria.

As part of the Lets Talk Science Festival, "Waste Wise" is a hands-on workshop for post primary school students, which will introduce them to waste (landfills, incineration, recycling, composting) and the environmental impacts that our waste causes. The Dead Zoo Live Go Extinct!

Event Description:
Did you know that hyenas used to live in Ireland? As part of the Lets Talk Science Festival join Museum Educators for this interactive virtual session to discover stories about some of the extinct animals found at the Museum.

This fun and interactive session is suitable for primary schools: 3rd to 6th class and will be live through WeStream on Friday 13th November at 10am to 10.30am. Schools will be able to watch this interactive session and ask the Museum team questions about extinct animals and the Dead Zoo!

We will cover how to assess the sustainability of a material, through analysing embodied energy and carbon in production and transportation within the construction industry.
