The Rediscovery Centre is very excited to offer a limited number of free Biodiversity workshops to our community. We have published two Biodiversity Explorers workshops, that are taking place on the 18th and the 25th of May, on to our website. During the events, our friendly staff will be at different biodiversity stations located around the Rediscovery Centre such as our green wall; constructed wetland; native species area, bug-hotel; sensory garden; rain-fed pond; vegetable garden. Each station offers an opportunity to learn more about the species inhabiting ecosystems and how to conserve biodiversity. Hands-on activities at the event include explore invertebrates during the bug hunt, learning all about what is living in our pond, and gardening for biodiversity. These are ticketed events and you can book your free place here www.rediscoverycentre.ie/events
We also have a number of free workshops available for schools that are in the local Ballymun area. During these workshops, students will have a great opportunity to learn all out Ireland’s fantastic biodiversity and how to help conserve it. The workshops include a range of hands-on activities such as bug hunts, pond dipping and investigating native plants. If you would like to book one of these workshops please email education@rediscoverycentre.ie A huge thank you to The Community Foundation for Ireland have kindly funded the Boiler House Biodiversity Project and these workshops.
