The Rediscovery Centre has been awarded funding from the EPA for a groundbreaking new research project
We are thrilled to announce that the Rediscovery Centre has been awarded funding from the EPA for a groundbreaking new research project. This funding will enable us to undertake a new research project: Barriers & Enablers to transition to Ireland’s transition to the Circular Economy.
This project, led by Dr. Jack McCarthy, will analyse the factors that hinder or facilitate Ireland’s transition to a circular economy, which is crucial to combat environmental degradation and climate change. While Ireland’s national policies recognise the importance of circularity, progress has been slow. The project will explore how to boost circularity and reduce emissions by targeting specific sectors.
This project is one of 33 successful research projects funded by the EPA €14.3 million research fund which is aimed at driving forward sustainability and policy development in Ireland, developing transdisciplinary research capacity in strategically important areas, and supporting Ireland’s transition towards circularity and sustainability.
