On Yer Bike: The Second Lap
Huge congratulations to the On Yer Bike team in Ballymun, who have sourced another 15 bikes for their community bike library!
Under the scheme, those who live, work or study in Ballymun are invited to apply to borrow a bike for 3-4 months, paying a deposit which will be refunded after the bike is returned.
Participants of the Rediscovery Centre’s ECCO project worked on the development, design and launch of the library of the now 25 electric bikes. Well done the OYB team: Martina Cahill, Laura Madden, Ger Prendergast, Dean Scurry, Paddy O’Reilly, Brian Foley, and our own Averil Rafferty!
This project, the largest community-based bike library in Ireland, is supported by the ECCO Project, ChangeX, the NTA, DCC, UCD, Ballymun Health & Fitness, YAP, and Mind & Body Fitness.
The Rediscovery Centre’s community-led climate action initiative ECCO is all about supporting individuals and community groups to kickstart local reuse or repair projects in Ballymun, Longford, Roscommon, and Limerick.
