Connecting Cabra are helping mobilise community climate action by supporting schools with expert mentors and by documenting the process through a radio programme, ‘Our Sustainable Village’.

To support this project, ECCO Training Coordinator Averil joined a class of brilliant girls to help them kickstart their own circular economy projects. The group decided to focus on both plastic bottle and fashion waste – and held their own Swap Shop stall at the Cabra Community Cycle and Eco Fun Day on 25th May!

Clothes were swapped, books exchanged, delicious drinks mixed by a bike-powered smoothie maker, plants were given away, and most importantly, schools throughout Cabra got together to celebrate the innovation and dedication of their children to improving their communities and to cutting waste.

Our Sustainable Village will be on RTE Junior radio soon – stay tuned!
