Happy Circular Samhain!

This season, which is often marked by overconsumption, has seen a visible shift towards more sustainable and circular practices. From costume swaps held nationwide to tips on reducing pumpkin waste, we’ve seen a firm focus on keeping this Halloween green.

Internationally, October has been bustling with circular economy events, like Circular Textiles Day, Repair Day and Circular Week, highlighting the importance of getting circular.

In Ireland, a comprehensive report on the Circular Economy was published by the Oireachtas Joint Committee on Environment and Climate Action, noting 47 actions and recommendations for advancing circular practices. To mark World Circular Textiles Day, the country’s first official sustainable fashion campaign was also launched, encouraging people to “Buy Less, Re-wear and Share”.

Further afield, Circular Economy Hotspot Crymru welcomed the circular community to Cardiff, California made history with the first US Clothing Recycling Law, and a record-breaking 2,000 events took place across 41 countries celebrating International Repair Day.
