Our partners Tait House Community Enterprise took Limerick participants in our ECCO community training programme on a field trip to Waste Lands Salvage last week to explore the impact of waste, and the power of upcycling and reuse.

Highlights of the day included:

  • A deep dive into waste management with our expert ECCO facilitator Eibhlin Fitzpatrick, uncovering the financial, social and environmental costs of waste.
  • A guided tour of Waste Lands Salvage, to see where unwanted goods get a second lease on life.
  • A hands-on papermaking workshop with Shirley, founder of Petals & Paper, using only recycled materials like egg boxes, coffee cups, leaves and pressed flowers to create something beautiful, practical and meaningful.

Our participants certainly walked away inspired and ready to reduce, reuse and repair!

We’re proud to collaborate with businesses and creatives who are proving that enterprise and sustainability can go hand in hand. Our goal is to connect ECCO participants with people and communities driving real change towards a greener future.

We are always looking for ideas and trips to take our ECCO participants. If you’re working in sustainability, reuse, repair, upcycling , we’d love to hear from you.
