Did you know that the majority of the Irish population are actively engaging in circular living behaviours like reusing, repairing, sharing, and preventing waste? That’s despite many people not fully understanding the term ‘circular economy’.

This is just one of the key findings from our new Circular Economy Key Insights Report, launched this week.

Some other interesting findings from the report:

  • More than two-thirds of people in Ireland think that moving to a circular economy should be prioritised by both government and businesses
  • Recognition of the term circular economy is growing since 2021 (up to 55%, from 25%)
  • Repair skills have increased to such a degree in recent years that now a majority of people feel equipped to fix broken items
  • Most people would like to see circular practices applied to plastics (72%), clothing (68%) and general products (65%)
