CSP Project with Rothar
We are working in collaboration with well-known bike shop Rothar to further develop bike reuse and recycling social enterprises and training.
This is part of a CSP pilot project, and is supported by the Department of Rural and Community Development and Pobal through the Community Services Programme. While bike use has been growing steadily in recent years, there are worries around supply chain issues, a shortage of skilled bike mechanics and limited access to affordable bikes for disadvantaged groups. This project aims to address these challenges head-on, fostering a sustainable and inclusive cycling culture while developing solutions to societal issues such as unemployment, green skills, social exclusion, viable circular solutions and climate breakdown. The partnership between Rediscovery Centre and Rothar to develop the CSP pilot project represents a significant step forward in promoting sustainable transportation.
