Mattie McCabe
Mattie is a career public servant and has served in a number of senior management positions in the Department of Enterprise Trade and Employment. He was the Director of the Office of Science and Technology in the Department before moving to Science Foundation Ireland (SFI) as Director of Corporate Services when it was established in 2002.
He took early retirement in 2010 and was subsequently engaged by the Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland on an outsourced/consultancy basis as Board Secretary and Governance Consultant. Overall, he has over 20 years governance experience on the Boards of State Bodies.
He also has a proven track record in the charitable sector having served for a number of years on the Board of Pieta House. He has also held a number of officer positions including President and PRO for Lucan Lions Club, which is part of the international Lions Club organisation.
