Aine O’Donnell
ECCO Project Manager
Meet Aine, ECCO Project Manager at the Rediscovery Centre since January 2023.
Aine works with our Community Trainer to deliver a government-funded Community Climate Action Programme: Empowering Communities in Circular Opportunities (ECCO). The aim of the project is to enable people from any background to develop reuse and repair projects, through informal community training. The programme is a working example of a grassroots approach to address local issues, skill and training gaps.
With a postgraduate degree in Bioeconomy with Bio-Based Business, MSc in Nutrition Science and a Professional Diploma in Project Management, Aine is a dedicated lifelong learner with a genuine concern for the health and wellbeing of people and the planet.
Aine formerly worked with Bord Iascaigh Mhara, where she explored innovative ways bio-products and waste streams from the marine environment can be recovered and valorised. This sparked her interest to further explore and apply circular design thinking to other sectors.
In her spare time, Aine is the founder and lead trainer of Project MissFits, a community enterprise aimed at improving women’s health through education, connection, movement, and nutrition.
