Dave Kavanagh
Rediscover Paint Programme Manager
Say hello to Dave Kavanagh, who has been Rediscover Paint’s programme manager since 2017. Rediscover Paint is our reuse social enterprise which tackles the issue of paint waste while providing high quality, inexpensive paint to communities. Dave is in charge of training community employment scheme trainees as well as Paint Reuse Network members in the logistics and skills of paint reuse.
Dave lived many lives before joining Rediscovery Centre. With 40 years’ experience in the building trade, Dave trained as a carpenter and joiner, served eight years with John Sisk and owned his own construction company. His passion for paint blossomed at a young age and he eventually moved to use his skills at Rediscovery Centre.
In his spare time, Dave enjoys amateur photography, reading, walking and is a passionate model railway enthusiast. Dave was also a trained singer with Palestrina in the cathedral choir since he was 14 years old, and in 1974 became the All Ireland Gymnastics Champion.
