Meet Ruth, one of our valued Tour Guide and Engagement Officers at the Rediscovery Centre since 2022.
As a lifelong resident of Ballymun, Ruth brings a unique perspective to her tours. Her grandparents moved to the area in 1966 when the flats were first built, giving her a deep connection to her community and its history.
As a Tour Guide and Engagement Officer, Ruth offers visitors of all ages an in-depth experiential tour of the upcycled Ballymun Boiler House, the home of the Rediscovery Centre since 2017. Built with best-practise sustainable design and construction, this is a tour not to be missed! Ruth ensures our visitors have a chance to explore the amazing elements that make our Centre so exceptional, and guarantees everyone leaves with a better understanding of environmental care and the circular economy, and takes away helpful tips for greener living.
With a degree in animation, Ruth enjoys drawing and has contributed her artistic talents to the Rediscovery Centre, creating art pieces and signs for visitors and staff.
